With the Ganesh idol, people used to immerse a sizeable volume of ‘Nirmalya’ also in the river. But thanks to pioneering initiatives from socially responsible establishments like Pune District Co-operative Bank and SSF, people now have become aware of the adverse consequences of ‘Nirmalya’ immersion in the river. Dr. Sanjaykumar Bhosle, CEO, PDCC Bank, Sanjay Shitol, AGM, Sachin Dorge, Planning Department Head also took an active part in the drive.
